Marsha R. Read, PhD, LCSW, LSCSW is a Board Certified Diplomate in Clinical Social Work and member of the Academy of Certified Social Workers. Before beginning her private practice, Dr. Read retired after twenty-five years with the University of Kansas Medical Center where she held the position of Clinical Associate Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. For over twenty years she also served as an adjunct associate professor for the KU School of Social Welfare. She is a coauthor of a clinical diagnostic interview and co-developer of Diagnosis-Specific Psychotherapy (DSP). She has made multiple invited presentations as well as being a co-presenter at several American Psychiatric Association Annual Meetings. Dr. Read received her AB (1964) from Milligan College in Tennessee, her MSW (1968) from the Washington University George Warren Brown School of Social Work in St. Louis and her PhD (1981) in Medical Sociology with a minor in Social Work from the University of Kentucky.
